Family iCloud+ Storage and Photo Access

Separate accounts sharing iCloud+ capacity do not automatically share their personal photo libraries.

Reviewed 2026-10-31 · 4,500 app labels in the database

At a glance

  • Where: Settings → Family → Subscriptions → iCloud+
  • Changes: Shared subscription capacity for separate Apple Accounts
  • Limits: A shared login, Shared Album or Shared Photo Library creates a different access arrangement and needs its own review.

Steps

  1. Confirm each person uses their own Apple Account.
  2. Review the shared subscription independently of any photo-sharing features.
  3. Inspect Shared Albums and Shared Library participants if the concern is who can see a specific photo.

Check the result

Trace a harmless sample through the exact account and library view in question. A thumbnail on another device is a reason to check the sharing path, not proof that every Family Sharing member sees your library.
