Reviewed 2026-10-31 · 4,500 app labels in the database

At a glance

  • Where: Photos → select picture → Share → Options → Location
  • Changes: Location information included in that sharing operation
  • Limits: This is separate from changing Camera permission and does not erase previously distributed copies.

Steps

  1. Select a harmless photo in Photos and open Share, then Options.
  2. Turn Location off and return to the sharing choices.
  3. Send the sample through your intended route and inspect the received file's details before sharing sensitive material.

Check the result

An address, recognizable room or caption can identify a place even when coordinates are absent. Inspect the output and accompanying text together.
